Custom Cloud Based Web App Solution, supported by iOS and Android Mobile Applications

The Client

Our client SMTC Global is primarily an International provider of OPITO approved Emergency Response & Skill training to the global oil & gas industry, having OPITO approved training centers are located in Indonesia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and UAE. Our client provides offsite training at offshore/onshore locations in Japan, Mongolia, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Philippines, Australia, India, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Sudan, Egypt, Gabon, Angola, Congo, Ghana, Cameroon, Nigeria, South Africa, Holland, Spain, Scotland, England, Norway, Denmark, Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Belgium, USA, Canada, Trinidad, Venezuela and Tobago.

SMCT Global also has learning and assessment team, who are industry practitioners having years of experience in their respective fields and are competent course leaders/assessors.

The Challenge

Since all centers of our client are OPITO approved and ISO 9001 : 2015 & ISO  45001 : 2018 certified so they needed an automated cloud based system supported by mobile applications that their staff can use to perform their daily activities smoothly and efficiently. Because of the structure of the organization our client has a very integrated work flow for Approval of different operations where users are assigned specific roles in order to Originate, Verify and approve an operation.

The client wanted to make their platform flexible, resilient, and comfortable to work with, so they opted for Mobile apps too so that their staff can easily Originate, Verify and Approve different operations within the system. Another challenge was the complex nature of user roles within the organization, where few roles access level was also to be managed across different centers. Another key option for the system admin was to also be able to generate consolidated reports amount all business centers, including roles based reporting too.

The newly developed custom system/ mobile apps needed to cover all critical activities of the business and help our client in transforming their company into a modern organization with healthy internal processes, strongly oriented towards meeting the business needs.

Our Approach

We formed a dedicated team that consisted of a business analyst, ERP Developers, Mobile Apps developers and a Project manager. Our team was supposed to work alongside the client’s managements, so we established a clear communication workflow that helped us eliminate misunderstandings between the two teams.
After discussing the client’s vision of the new platform’s operations, we finalized the requirements for the end product, planned the communication hierarchy between the web app and mobile apps. We also designed a smooth data-flow pattern across different platforms. Also after studying the client’s system and analyzing some staff level issues, we also suggested a custom Complain management system with in the platform, in order to minimize the problems caused by human negligence.

The Result

We successfully implemented the multi country based cloud platform solution consisting of a Web app and Mobile Apps for both Android and iOS platforms. The newly designed Requisitions and Complains management system proved to be a game changer for the organization and it helped our client gain better efficiency, scalability, integrality, security, reporting, and a more enjoyable user experience with in their system.

The new system also eased Training and Scheduling aspects of the organization which lead more to our Client’s customer’s satisfaction levels.

The solution integrated the entire activity of the company into a consistent system with a single system. The newly developed system also ensures a high level of security and the user rights management. The advance MIS/ Flexible reporting system helped our client in generating Monthly, Bi-Monthly, Annual and custom period reports.

With our new solution, our customer now gains real time data from various departments allowing quick and powerful decision making.
